I had the most wonderful opportunity to photography Arely's beautiful pregnancy in Pastorius Park in Philadelphia. When I met Arely for the first time, I connected with her immediately. Arely is only 20, but she couldn't be more excited about being pregnant and becoming a mother. Her story is sad; however, she's not going to let that get her down. When she found out she was pregnant she was so shocked and happy; she didn't know if she was going to laugh or cry.
She never imaged herself being pregnant, but here she is 8 months along. Arely described to me how amazing her pregnancy has been, but at the same time, it's been very tough. The morning sickness was hard on her, but the hardest of all was finding out her baby girl has a genetic disorder known as Edward's Syndrome, or Trisomy 18. She's doing her best to stay positive and not stress too much. She knows the road ahead is long, but it's a road she's willing to travel. She's truly enjoying every change in her body and loves feeling the kicks and movements in her belly.
