Mornings on the Eastern Shore
This was a beautiful morning beach session with three lovely humans. Baby Adeline will be two soon and it was time to make more memories. The weather was beautiful, the waves were quietly crashing onto the shore, and the sun was just bright enough to blanket the family in glowing light. I encouraged the family to be themselves and enjoy the quiet morning before the beach goers arrive with their umbrellas and chairs. By doing this, I was able to create a session of gorgeous candid shots, depicting the family as they are, in their element.
Ever since I started film photography I've been in search of a particular look. I knew what I wanted, it was just a matter of finding the right medium. It's been about 1.5 years into my film journey and I've gotten a better handle of exposure, film stocks, and 35mm versus 120. I shoot primarily with my Pentax 645 NII and the 75mm lens. The lens it very good, but didn't give me exactly what I was looking for. It wasn't until a month or so ago I ran across the Pentax 67 105mm f/2.4 and the Pentax 645 adapter! This combination is unlike any other I've ever worked with; it's spectacular, the Pentax 645 and Pentax 67 105mm lens. I pair those two with Fujifilm 400h Pro film. With that combination I was able to create the images you see here.
To date, this is one of the most complete and cohesive sessions I've had since I started on my film journey. I'm very happy with how this turned out.
